In Argentina,
especially in Cordoba, we have the privilege of being able to offer the best
turtle doves in the world, incredible meat combined with the best Malbec wine,
not forgetting the Quilmes beer, everything makes a perfect combo for hunting
turtle doves in Argentina.
A typical turtle
hunting day starts at 6:30 am when they knock on our door to greet us and
announce that breakfast is ready, in the best American style, with bacon, eggs,
sausage, omelettes, various cereals , Fresh fruit, sweet breads, and orange
juice along with coffee. Especially if it is the first breakfast, the
excitement that is felt at the table by the expected hunting of turtle doves is
incredible. At 7:15 a.m. everyone is ready to go to the firing range, in modern
vans or 4 x 4 vans, and in about 25 minutes we are in the ready to shoot our
first shots. Between the months of August to April we hunt in the dormitories
all day and between May and July we hunt in the fields of cultivation in the
morning and in the dormideros in the afternoon. There they will be waiting for
their previously assigned secretaries, who will be attending at all times,
bringing fresh drink to the firing point, celebrating shots, counting turtles
thrown down and carrying the exact number of cartridges thrown. You will also
recharge your weapons if you prefer and collect the birds once the day of
hunting has ended. Many of the hunters who return year after year ask to have
the same secretary of the previous year.
