El Fortin

El Fortin is located 5 minutes from La Macarena Lodge. It was originally constructed as a general store to serve residents of this agricultural area inhabited by millions of doves. It has since been fully renovated to offer the modern touches that international sportsmen enjoy on a trip to Argentina. Inside features a comfortable living room, dining room, bar and 4 double-occupancy bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. There is plenty of room to relax and enjoy the evening after a full day in the field. Outside includees beautiful grounds and plenty of seating areas.

La Macarena

La Macarena is located 120 kilometers from the Cordoba airport (COR) near the town of Santa Rosa of First River and 5 minutes from The Fortin Lodge. The lodge was built specifically to accommodate hunters and includes all the comfort and amenities our clients expect. The interior features appealing living, dining and bar areas. The great room features comfortable seating, TV and cocktail areas which flow into the large dining room. The main lodge includes 3 triple-occupancy bedrooms and 1 double-occupancy bedroom, each with a private bathroom. In addition, there are 2 spacious wooden cobins adjacent to the main lodge with 2 doubble-occupancy bedrooms and bathroom in each. The exterior has lovely landscaping, playground and an inviting swimming pool where you can spend a relaxing evening after a day in the field. La Macarena can accommodate 19 hunters.

Our Lodges

Iemmi hunting has 2 lodges: "The Fortin" and "The Macarena", boths of them are situated in First River Department, Cordoba city, Argentina. Each of them has all the comforts: rooms with private bath, central heating system and air conditioning and all the services of additional comfort. Facilities include a large living room, and cozy bar desings. Our main activity is hunting tourism, the golden dove shot and pigeon. The attention is run by its owners and in own fields.

Our Company

Raul Iemmi Hunting is a company specialized in small game hunting and outdoor activities located in the Argentine territory. This South American country is recognized worldwide by its vegetation, wildlife and thanks to its great abundance of species, including ducks, partridges and native doves, Argentina receives a great number of enthusiastic sportsmen from all around the world. In an intensive hunting, hunters can usually shoot more than 1000 shots a day. Always they receive the attention and supervision of our trained hunting outfitters. In fact, the main objective of Raul Iemmi hunting is to offer the hunter our responsibility, professionalism and experience in hunting in order to make it efficient and unforgettable.

"Duck and partridge hunting"

The hunting of ducks is carried out along the Paraná River, in the province of Corrientes; in the delta. The place is visited by birds lovers from all around the world since lagoons are an authentic paradise. One important item for the hunters is to enter the hunting positions at night since any strange movement will make the ducks move away from the place. In this region, large concentrations of species of ducks are produced. Some of them are: crestón, siriri Colorado, siriri pampa, siriri correntino, alita azul, franciscano, barcino, maicero, Colorado, gargantilla, collar, cuchara, martillo and cabeza negra, apart from another species. It is habitual to hunt between 5 and 8 different species during the hunting. The open season extends from April to August. Here we propose some items for hunters novices.

1- It is important for the hunters to have a good camouflage.
2- Remember that ducks always arrive land against the wind; this is the best moment to perform the shot.
3- Decoys are efficient tools to attract ducks. A decoy of Siriríes is made with a pair of bottoms of cartridge. Plastics and percussion caps are retired and are pasted one into the other. When someone whistles through the hole, a sound similar to the duck's is produced
4- If the sown fields are flooded and with not enough vegetation where you can hide from ducks, you will need to improvise a kind of station made of branches or with a camouflaged piece of cloth.
5- Ducks fly at high speed (some species reach 40 km/h or more) so the hunter needs to accelerate the shot that will depend on the distance and height that the duck is covering.
6- As regards supplying, we prefer fine supplying (6-7) although some people succeed using thick supplying. You need to have in mind that a professional guide will be ready to help you in case you need help or some guidance.
